It is with joy that we announce the publication of the book ADVANCES IN BOTANICAL RESEARCH – Coffee – A Glimpse into the Future. Edited at the invitation of Elsevier by CEF professor José Cochicho Ramalho and Fábio DaMatta (Federal University of Viçosa), this book aims to serve as a milestone in the study of coffee, considering the implications of climate change and global warming.
The book covers a wide range of topics, including biodiversity, ecophysiology, tolerance mechanisms, breeding and molecular tools, crop management, production and quality, challenges for the industry, among others, utilizing a diverse array of methodologies. Its goal is to inform all stakeholders in the value chain (from farmers to policymakers, including the industry) while also highlighting the need for increased investment in research in this area. Additionally, four (out of 18) chapters feature contributions from various members of ISA/CEF (Ana I. Ribeiro-Barros, António E. Leitão, Isabel Marques, Ana P. Rodrigues, Joana I. Martins).
