Forest Research Centre (CEF) is a research unit of the School of Agriculture (ISA, Instituto Superior de Agronomia), University of Lisbon (ULisboa, Universidade de Lisboa) and a FCT – funded member of the national R&D system.
CEF has 95 researchers, 43 doctoral students and 10 research assistants.
The research is organized in four Research Groups:
- ForEco: Forest ecology
- ForProtect: Protection, Restoration & Services in Forests and Agroecosystems
- ForChange: Forest ecosystem management under global change
- ForTec: Forest products and biorefineries
The Forest Research Center was classified as EXCELLENT by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, in the Evaluation that took place in 2019.
It was award with the amount of 1579 700,00 euros for the period of 2020-2023.
