Astronomical Observatory of Lisbon (FCUL)
The Astronomical Observatory of Lisbon was established by the 11th March, 1861. During the 19th century and part of the 20th century, developed abilities in astrometry, that granted international recognition to the institution. Today the observatory keeps and provides the Portuguese Standard Time, presiding the Standing Committee for the Hour, develops and supports scientific research activities in the field of astrophysics, information and training for the learning and conservation of its excellent assets, besides providing a public service in its areas of involvement.

National Institute for Biological Resources
The National Institute for Biological Resources IP, is a public sector organization that has a quest for science policies and conducts research supporting public strategies directed to value the biological resources, protecting national interests and in the quest and deepening of common policies within the European Union.
Based at Tapada are the Laboratory Rebelo da Silva and the Tapada da Ajuda Apiarian Station.
