Resumo: Improving our knowledge on the trophic interactions between livestock, oaks and their pests, will contribute to define better-balanced livestock management calendars, which will serve both economic and biodiversity conservation aims in montados and dehesas. A natural pest control, implemented in Spanish holm oak (Quercus ilex) dehesas, will be described and the possibility of extending it to cork oak (Quercus suber) montados will be discussed.
