Summer School at USP/ESALQ
The “Luiz de Queiroz” College of Agriculture is glad to invite students to attend the Summer School on “Tropical Bio-based Production Systems” to be held in our campus between July 25th and August 5th, 2016.
The content of this Summer School approaches: Overview on tropical agriculture; Biodiversity on agricultural regions; Animal production in the tropics; Natural resources; Biomass and bioenergy production systems; Management of agricultural landscape; Water management on biomass production; Food technology on tropical biomass; Sciences applied to biomass production; Social issues on rural environment; and Tropical bio-based economy.
Besides the 45 h of lectures, there will be technical visits and a final presentation from groups formed by students from different countries/institutions. These final presentations regard comparisons between the original countries and what was observed in tropical conditions, to be composed in the remaining time. The desired profile is an undergraduate student attending the second half of his or her course.
Since there will be positions available for 74 partners from 30 countries in this Summer School, it will be offered one position per international partner, but as soon as we receive feedbacks from our partners it will be possible to rearrange remaining ones, in case the offered position is not fulfilled.
Your students are free from tuition fees. So there will be only cost with transportation (air tickets, transfer from/to airport, commuting etc.), housing (suggestion of hotels will be sent) and food. They will have access to our student restaurant, library, internet access, health care just as a USP student.
