Ph.D. candidate by the SUSFOR Doctoral Scholarship Program - Sustainable Forests and Products, assessing wildfire hazard, community vulnerability and mitigation programs in Alberta, Canada and Portugal, supervised by Dr Conceição Colaço, Prof. Francisco Castro Rego and co-supervised by Dr. Jen Beverly (University of Alberta).
Sidra holds an MSc dual degree under the Joint Masters Erasmus Mundus MEDFOR scholarship program (2015-2017) from the University of Padova, Italy and Karadeniz Technical University Turkey; as well as a BSc in Environmental Sciences from University of Punjab, Pakistan.
Sidra co-founded a student-based volunteer environmental society called GreenMinds. She is a GlobalUGrad and MEDFOR alumni, a former UNFCCC, and University of California Berkeley intern. Sidra's research focuses on wildfires and community protection planning.
Research Interests: Forest Fires, LULCC, Wildfire exposure planning, Fire programs, Spatial-temporal planning, Social economic Analysis, Community assessment and, Climate change and fires.
