The Baeta Neves Library (BBN) was inaugurated in the 13th December of 2005, for the occasion of the 10th anniversary of CEABN. The documents of BBN come predominantly from the personal collection of Professor Carlos Manuel Baeta Neves, a recognized forest entomologist, lecturer in the Instituto Superior de Agronomia between 1945 and 1979, and reveal its multiple interests in science. Prof. Baeta Neves was also a pioneer in the enhancement of Ecology and Conservation of Nature as applied sciences, for what he collected a large number of documents on these subjects, among many others. During the last 10 years, CEABN's work team contributed to the library with several books and documents on its research areas, namely fire ecology, wildlife management, landscape ecology, biodiversity in agricultural and forest ecosystems and environmental education.
