From 23rd to 24th of February it was held the Observatree/ IPSN: Tree and Plant Health Early Warning Systems in Europe Conference at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, in London, that aimed to alert to the sharp rise in the number of invasive tree and plant pests and diseases, which can lead to large scale environmental and economic damage.

Our colleagues Ana Luísa Soares and Sónia Azambuja attended the congress with oral communication under the title: "Tree inventory of Lisbon's historic gardens: a tool for management and control of invasive tree and plant pests and diseases".

This communication presents part of the results of the "LX GARDENS – Lisbon´s Historic Gardens and Parks: study and landscape heritage inventory" (FCT: PTDC/EAT-EAT/11082/2009).
