On December 20 our researcher Pedro Vaz completed his Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Évora with Distinction and Laud (scored 19, from 0-20). The Summa Cum Laude was earned for his dissertation "Long-term effects of Portuguese forest fires on morphology and aquatic habitat structure of lotic ecosystems", resulting in 5 publications in Quartile 1 journals such as Freshwater Science. As a result of the financial support by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (PhD grant SFRH/BD/45490/2008), Pedro just completed 11 co-authored ISI articles over the 4-year PhD, where he represented CEABN InBIO and fully justify the funding.
