The CEABN and the Estradas de Portugal SA are partners in a project that aims stabilizing a slope in the A21 freeway (between Malveira and Venda do Pinheiro). This project of environmental and structural restructuring is developed with soil bioengineering techniques. These techniques use plants roots as a living construction material to stabilize and avoid the slope superficial erosion. These soil bioengineering techniques are also used to reduce flow speed and to eliminate hydraulic erosion.
