The CEABN InBio researcher Cristina Castel-Branco awarded the French insignia of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters, in a cerimony at the French diplomatic divison, in Lisbon.

This insignia distinguishes people from arts and literature related to the French culture. Cristina Castel-Branco was the first landscape architect to merit this prestigious distinction, which has also been awarded to famous Portuguese personalities, like Fado singer Amália Rodrigues, architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, and filosofer Eduardo Lourenço, as well as to international celebrities, like filmmaker Neil Patrick Jordan and Jazz saxophonist Dexter Gordon.
