CIBIO - RESEARCH CENTRE IN BIODIVERSITY AND GENETIC RESOURCES

CIBIO-InBIO is a high-status research unit dedicated to developing world-class research in the area of Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology. CIBIO-InBIO’s mission is to produce advanced scientific knowledge to set and suggest appropriate conservation priorities and management tools. CIBIO is part of InBIO - Research Network in Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology, Associate Laboratory, together with CEABN – Centre for Applied Ecology "Prof. Baeta Neves", School of Agriculture - University of Lisbon   

CIBIO is managed by Associação BIOPOLIS. The vision of BIOPOLIS/CIBIO-InBIO is to firmly establish itself as a strong, competitive, and internationally recognized network of excellence in the fields of evolutionary biology, biodiversity, and conservation, integrating all levels of biological organization from genes to ecosystems. BIOPOLIS/CIBIO-InBIO research is strongly aligned with national and international goals, including Europe’s 2020 Agenda and Horizon 2020 Strategy, the Millennium Development Goals, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In addition to its headquarters at the campus de Vairão, University of Porto, CIBIO-InBIO has more two poles, one located in ISA.
