CEF installs flux tower at Companhia das Lezírias
Sofia Cerasoli teacher at ForEco group, instaled a new flux tower at Companhia das Lezírias.
The tower continuously measures carbon and water fluxes at the tree and understory level of a cork oak woodland area. These measurements allow us to assess ecosystem carbon sequestration, water balance and analyse the impact of climate change on tree growth.
New methodologies are also being tested for the monitoring automation of cork oak woodlands, using optical sensors and remote sensing.
All these measurements contribute to enhancing models that allow the verification of cork oak woodland adaptation to climate change.
