CEF é parceiro do projeto COMFOR-SUDOE
CEF is a partner of COMFOR SUDOE, a project focused on promoting complex forests (mixed and irregular forests) and species-rich plantations as a resilient adaptation strategy in response to climate change and biodiversity loss.
The project was launched by a transnational consortium of forestry stakeholders, composed of a large group of collaborators with complementary skills and expertise, to ensure the sustainability of healthy and functional forests that ensure the provision of goods and services to rural and urban society in south-western Europe, as well as the protection of their rich biodiversity.
COMFOR SUDOE aims to strengthen transnational synergies and partnership networks in specific sectors of the SUDOE area and to promote research, development and technology transfer and innovation.
The project has five specific objectives:
- Assess the social and economic value of ecosystem services provided by mixed plantations and irregular forests in the SUDOE area.
- To create a joint experimental network of mixed and irregular forests and plantations in the SUDOE area for training and knowledge transfer, and to strengthen transnational synergies of research and innovation and partnership networks.
- Developing an intelligent information management strategy for mixed plantations and irregular forests in the SUDOE region.
- Promote smart information management in environmental services and renewable energy in the SUDOE region through the knowledge network, innovation and scientific exchange.
- Promote the technological value of complex forests and mixed plantations as local capital of the SUDOE region.
