“Alvares - A case of fire resilience”: study coordinated by CEF presents technical report
Following the large fires of June 2017 that heavily affected the Pinhal Interior area, CEF was requested to develop and coordinate a project whose main objective was the development of proposals to reduce the vulnerability of the parish of Alvares (Góis ) to rural fires.
Held over a year, this project was funded by the Observer newspaper and was awarded in May with the “Forest and Sustainability” award in the “Innovation and Science” category in the 2nd edition of the competition launched by CELPA. The team’s expectation responsible for the development of this project is to take the developed model to other regions of the country with similar problems.
Following the publication of the executive report in October 2018, the final technical report is now available for consultation on the project website: https://www.alvares-fogo.com/
