Core Group Meeting of COST Action CONVERGES: Knowledge conversion for enhancing management of European riparian ecosystems and services
On the past 17th April, the Instituto Superior de Agronomia hosted the first meeting of the core group, carried out in the context of the COST Action, “CONVERGES (CA16208): Knowledge conversion for enhancing management of European riparian ecosystems and services”
COST supports collaborative transnational activities under a system of networks of investigators based on open access and bottom-up principles, covering all scientific and technological domains. These networks, designated COST Actions, enable breakthrough scientific developments contributing to the Europe's leadership in RDI. Via its inclusiveness policy, and through the special emphasis given to young investigators, COST is a unique means to European investigators to foster their ideas and initiatives openly, freely, and through collaborative efforts. COST promotes the integration and development of a myriad of scientific communities, maximizing the national investment in RDI, and contributing decisively to the defragmentation of knowledge in Europe.
The COST Action CONVERGES has currently 27 participant countries and 82 Management Committee members, being coordinated by Rennes University (Simon Dufour, Chair). ISA researchers are represented in the leadership roles (Patricia Rodríguez González, Vice-Chair, MC member) and young researchers representing Portugal (Inês Marques, MC substitute).
