SCAPEFIRE MEETING | 18 OCTOBER 2019

On October 18, 2020, the team met in the municipality of Pampilhosa da Serra, partner and case study of the SCAPEFIRE project. During the morning, the situation of the different studies was taken with discussion of results, in tasks 1, 2, 3 and 4. During the afternoon the team took a guided tour of Eng. Sandra Chora to a burned area of the municipality.

At the same time, during the afternoon, a participatory workshop was held with the community of Pampilhosa da Serra, to discuss problems and solutions for the municipality.

FCT MEETING | 17 NOVEMBER 2019

FCT, together with ForestWISE – Collaborative Laboratory for Integrated Forest and Fire Management and the Agency for Integrated Management of Rural Fires (AGIF), organized a session on “Rural Fires: Better management based on scientific evidence” on November 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Auditorium of the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), in Algés. At the event, the projects supported by FCT were presented and discussed in the framework of the Scientific Research and Technological Development Project Competition in the Field of Forest Fire Prevention and Combat.
