KICK-OFF MEETING | 5 APRIL 2019
On April 5, 2019 the first SCAPEFIRE project meeting was held – A sustainable landscape planning model for rural FIREs prevention (PCIF 2017 – PCIF/MOS/0046/2017). The project aims to propose a Rural Landscape Planning model that contributes to the prevention of rural fires, taking into account the ecological, economic and social sustainability of the landscape.
In this kickoff meeting, work began by the different teams, with knowledge sharing, discussion of the methodologies to be used and planning of the different activities and meetings planned in the project application.
The coordination team consists of Prof. Selma Pena and Prof. Manuela Raposo Magalhães from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia.
The project counts with the participation of teachers and researchers from Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Faculdade de Letras (FL), Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), Faculdade de Arquitectura (FA), Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (FCT-UNL), Universidade de Évora (UE) and by the consultant Marc Castellnou from Pau Costa Foundation.
The General Directorate of Territory (DGT); Portuguese Federation of Local Development Associations (MinhaTerra); Leiria City municipality; Pampilhosa da Serra municipality are also institutions participating in the project.
