CEF members participate in the 8th European Conference of Tropical Ecology as organizers of a session dedicated to dry tropical forests
The 8th edition of the European Conference of Tropical Ecology will be held in Amsterdam from February 24 to 28, 2025, and will showcase the latest scientific advances in the field of Tropical Ecology.
We aim to provide an opportunity for all participants to present their research, an atmosphere that stimulates collaboration, and social events that strengthen friendships new and old. Through sharing our knowledge and experience of tropical systems across the globe both past and present we can pave the way for securing a bright future for the center of Earth’s diversity.
The conference will feature thematic sessions grouped into seven overarching topics:
- Freshwater and marine ecosystems
- Human-environment interactions
- Monitoring and modelling
- Patterns and processes
- Restoration and conservation
- Spatial and temporal scales
- General ecology
Session 3 “Connecting the world’s dry topical forests: A platform for understanding their socio-ecology” of topic 2 Human-environment interactions, scheduled for February 25, is organized by members of the Forest Research Centre (CEF) Natasha Ribeiro, Ana Ribeiro-Barros and João Neves Silva, in collaboration with researcher Oswaldo Maillard, from the Fundación para la Conservación del Bosque Chiquitano (FCBC), Bolivia.
