Workshop “Nitrogen in soil, water and GHG”

Évora, Portugal | 9 - 12 October 2017

The NecoSchool, on the topic the Global and Long-term Effects of Nitrogen on Ecosystems was held from 15 to 16 May 2017.

We joined 17 sutudents from from 7 countries (Portugal, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, Sweden, China and Luxembourg) during a 9 days course with teachers from 7 countries. During the course we had lectures, field and lab work and Group work, visited two LTER stations, Companhia das Lezírias and Herdade da Coitadinha.

Check the course details, download here the agenda, some photos of the course, a small video, and check an interview to Mark Sutton on nitrogen issues. And check the videos here.

  Online training session
By Aarhus University, about FarmAC model, from the AnimalChange project. It simulates the flows of carbon and nitrogen on arable and livestock farms, quantifying greenhouse gas emissions, soil C sequestration and N losses to the environment. It also simulates crop and livestock production. Nine members of the team will attend. On the 2nd June, 9h00 at ISA.
