The Association of Forestry Producers of Coruche (APFC) distinguished the researcher Margarida Tomé from CEF – Forest Research Centre, School of Agriculture with the Research Award, one of the four thematic prizes associated with the commemoration of its 25 years.

Among other works carried out in collaboration with this association, Margarida Tomé was responsible for the research carried out on the subject of cork sampling, which resulted in the definition of the sampling scheme currently recommended and used by several associations of producers to evaluate cork in the field.

The award was presented on May 27, during FICOR 2017, at the Cork Observatory, in Coruche.
